I was recently invited to be a part of ARTSPROJEKT. Started by Andy Howell, a veteran of skateboarding and museum artist, I have always had respect and admiration for his projects and was blown away a few years back at his Kantor Gallery show in Los Angeles. He continues to push the boundaries of art and design and I am proud to be a part of this project.

Vintage Singer Sewing Machine.
On our Sunday walk through Astoria, Brenda, Kara, and myself made a pit stop to drop off some unwanted stuff at the local Goodwill. While making the drop Brenda noticed this beauty being dropped off by the man in front of her. After he left she opened the case to find a mint condition Singer Featherweight from the 1960's. With her game face on she asked the man behind the counter if it was for sale. He asked if she just wanted the case and she said that she would also take the sewing machine. In his laziness he told her to take it because he did not want to tag it.
Brenda ended up walking away with a nearly-mint condition sewing machine that goes at auction for as much as $600 for free. That is a good Sunday visit to the thrift store and what a beautiful machine it is.
It came compete with a bunch of bobbins, all of the original manuals, paperwork and even the receipts from Macys!

Jeff Schaller Iron Hill Brewery Mural.
Jeff Schaller discusses the mural that he created for Iron Hill brewery in West Chester, PA. I have seen the mural in person and it has tremendous impact! Iron Hills beer also has some kick to it, unfortunately it is impossible to get in New York.
The Target.
There is something so satisfying about the target. I have been a fan of shooting for years now at make an effort to shoot at every chance I get (Especially because it is difficult to shoot in New York City) and the simplicity of the target has always stood out as a solid icon in my mind. Collecting the multiple variations of targets has been a small hobby for me.
This post deals with the beauty of the target in its purest form (for shooting) and as art. Jasper Johns is definitely on my most favorite list and so I have chosen a few from his many, and even corporate branding has found a place here.

Vintage Mopar color swatch cards.
My friend, Mark McCormick, recently introduced his girlfriend, Kate, to my artwork and she has written a nice blurb about me and what I do. You can see it here. Kate runs a blog called "The Greaser Garage" which speaks about art, design, hot women, classic hot rods and life. In her post she mentioned my color palette coming straight from vintage Mopar color cards. I had to swipe a few and post them here because they are a perfect match for my palette.
I love that sublime color from the 1970 Dodge Challenger! Classic.
You can see her blog here, her website here, and Marks' amazing illustrations here.

William Steiger "Recent Drawings" at Kopeikin Gallery, LA.
William Steiger will have a solo show opening at Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles. The show will consist of recent drawings and will run from March 13th - April 17th with the artist reception on Saturday, March 13th, 6-8pm.
Steigers' work is quintessential Americana and in its most pristine form. From the trains that traverse across the country, to the gridwork of old rollercoasters and Ferris wheels, his story is precise and perfect. His objects are extracted from any backgrounds and miscellaneous information to show the viewer a unique view of each subject.
You can see more of his work here and here.

Oscar winning short film "Logorama".
Short film that won the Oscar and worth every minute of it!
Logorama presents us with an over-marketed world built only from logos and real trademarks that are destroyed by a series of natural disasters (beginning with a hurricane, cyclone, tidal wave...). logotypes are used to describe an alarming universe (similar to the one that we are living in) with all the graphic signs that accompany us everyday in our lives. this over-organized universe is violently transformed by the cataclysm becoming fantastic and absurd. it shows the victory of the creative against the rational, where nature and human fantasy triumph.
Congratulations to H5 for their amazing work!

Rube Goldberg x OK GO.
Along the lines of the Toyota commercial that I posted earlier this has the same insane amount of coordination and planning.
