Vintage Matchbook Artwork.
One thing that I have been eyeing heavily these days is vintage matchbook artwork. Here are a few of my favorites from flickr. The use of typography is timeless and the illustrations are perfectly crude and appropriate for end use.

Lucky Strike Matchbook Artwork Series
I have been slowly working towards building a body of work based on matchbook artwork from the 1950's and 60's. I stumbled upon someone's old collection of matchbooks in an antique store and was drawn to the imagery but thought that the small size was the only problem. These pieces are 24" and larger and I have avoided using my standard photographic acrylic transfers. Instead I am painting the images and collaging them with paper ephemera from that time period. I hope you enjoy them. Please inquire on pricing if interested.
