Chinese Peasant Workers Magazine from 1970.
I found these amazing illustrations on flickr. Thanks to oldtasty for posting them. These remind me of the work that Shepard Fairey does today in the sense of the colors, illustration style and propaganda theme.

The Street Art of Klutch.
I first became aware of Klutch's work seeing it around Portland, OR in 2006. He had his trademark birds wheat pasted around the Mississippi area of Portland. They had a distinct line quality that attracted me to them. After a little research I figured out who was making them and have followed the evolution of his work ever since.
Klutch has expanded his palette by stepping away from canvas and wood panel and stepped into murals. The scale of them brings a new dimension to his work. I'm a fan of everything that he makes.
You can see more of his work here and here.

Jane Maxwell art opening at Campton Gallery, New York.
Jane Maxwell sent me some jpegs of her newest work which is for an opening in early November at Campton Gallery in the Soho section of New York. The show, titled"Recent works" will open on November 7th from 5 - 7PM and Jane will be there to accompany the work and meet and greet her patrons.
I have always loved Jane's work and the new work is no exception. These pieces focus more on typography than her prior work. They incorporate grids of color, type, and images associated with her themes. I cannot wait to see the new work in person.

Vintage Fortune Magazine Cover Artwork.
I stumbled across these amazing vintage Fortune magazine covers on ffffound.com. It always amazes me how inventive designers were pre-internet era.
The simplicity and solid composition show the true talent and craftsmanship of designers in that era. We could all learn something from looking back in time to see how simplicity tells the story better than busy, cluttered compositions.
