I stumbled across these amazing vintage Fortune magazine covers on ffffound.com. It always amazes me how inventive designers were pre-internet era.
The simplicity and solid composition show the true talent and craftsmanship of designers in that era. We could all learn something from looking back in time to see how simplicity tells the story better than busy, cluttered compositions.
Good to see someone appreciates these beauties.
ReplyDeleteI collect Fortunes...(magazines)...and the art
of the covers as well as the contents is great.
These that you show are from that '50s period,
which is when I studied art and art history...
but I'm a child of the '30s so those early ones
really knock me out. Thanks for posting these.
