The show is titled "Girl, Interrupted" and features a new body of work specifically for this show opening. The show will run from 5-7PM and Campton Gallery is located at 451 West Broadway below Houston Street.

Miami Basel Art Fair with Mauger Modern Gallery.

I will be at Miami Basel this year with Mauger Modern Gallery for the "There's Still Life" group show. The theme of the show is the "still life" painting in an unconventional form. Mauger will be showing a great roster of artists including Robert Bradford, Tim Biskup, Ron English, Jane Maxwell and Michael Mew.

Vintage Fruit Crate Labels.

Jane Maxwell turned me on to vintage fruit crate labels a few years back. She uses them in the collage of her art to make references to female anatomy in a tongue in cheek way.

The design of the labels is spectacular. It evokes a simpler time. I am drawn to the 3D type that is often used for the brand names. The labels remind me of old movie production studio advertisements that scroll before the movie starts.

Jane Maxwell art opening at Campton Gallery, New York.

Jane Maxwell sent me some jpegs of her newest work which is for an opening in early November at Campton Gallery in the Soho section of New York. The show, titled"Recent works" will open on November 7th from 5 - 7PM and Jane will be there to accompany the work and meet and greet her patrons.

I have always loved Jane's work and the new work is no exception. These pieces focus more on typography than her prior work. They incorporate grids of color, type, and images associated with her themes. I cannot wait to see the new work in person.
