"Retroism" group show, Australia.

May has been the month of pop art shows! I have been invited by Kareem Rizk to be one of the artists in a group art show. The show is titled "Retroism" and it will be showing at Retrospect Gallery in Byron Bay, Australia. The opening will be May 21, 2010 from 6-9PM.

The show features a talented group of artists including Nick Morris, Kareem Rizk, Julien Pacaud, Eduardo Recife, Cecil Touchon, Mario Wagner, Charles Wilkin, Handiedan, Sunny Belliston Taylor, Tez Humphreys, and Falling Ruin.

Masters: Collage book release.

I am excited to announce that I am one of the artists is a newly published art book. The book, called "Collage: Masters", is a compilation of the leading collage artists around the world. The official release date is June 1, 2010 and here is the link to buy it from Amazon.com.

I was approached a few years back by Randel Plowman, a collage artist and curator of this book. He invited me to be one of the featured artists. It has been a long process but seeing the end results one can tell why. The layout and format of the book is beautiful and the talent level of the artists is inspiring. It gives me a whole new batch of artists to feature on my blog!

Some of the other featured artists include Cecil Touchon, Jonathan Talbot, Lynn Whipple, and Stephanie Dalton Cowan.

"Contemporary Collage: Paper's Many Forms" group show.

I have been asked to participate in a group show at Emily Amy Gallery in Atlanta which opens on Friday, September 11, 2009.

I was contacted by Cecil Touchon awhile back and asked to be in the show. Cecil runs the Ontological Museum in Texas as well as having an amazing art career.

I have a piece of artwork in the permanent collection at the Museum and that piece will be in the exhibit along with 3 others that are for sale.

A Book About Death postcard exhibit. Open Call to Artists.

I will be participating in an art show in September at the Emily Harvey Foundation Gallery in New York City. Cecil Touchon invited me to be a part of the show. He will also be showing as well as a bunch of other Fluxus movement artists so it should be a fun show.

The premise of the show is that each artist contributes 500 post cards to create an unbound book about death. An homage to Ray Johnson, a celebration of Emily Harvey, a global exploration of death.

No limit to the number of artists contributing. CDs, dvds & objects accepted - send 500. Deadline: september 5!

Exhibition at the Emily Harvey Foundation Gallery in New York City. Opening will be on Thursday 10 september 2009 and the exhibition: will run through September 22, 2009.

Art Modern Gallery Summer Show, Naples, Florida.

Here are some photos of the Art Modern Gallery Summer Show that is currently running. Robert at Art Modern has done a wonderful job of representing me and my work. I am excited to see my work hanging between Rauschenberg, Lichtenstein and Dolk!

Robert at Art Modern recently saw a posting of Cecil Touchon's work on my blog and since has started representing his work as well.

Artwork acquisition for International Museum of Collage, Assemblage, and Construction.

A piece of my artwork was recently acquired by the International Museum of Collage, Assemblage, and Construction in Texas for their permanent collection. The museum is run by Cecil Touchon. We will both be featured in a book about collage that will be released in early 2010.

I will be published in an upcoming book titled "Collage" Masters" that will be released in early 2010 from Lark Books. In my research I found that Cecil Touchon will also be in that book. I am a huge fan of his work. Touchon makes abstract, non objective collage and paintings. His work references type from old advertising posters but is transformed into abstract geometric planes. I am attracted to his bold, stark color and strong compositions.

Touchon is also the director of the Ontological Museum in Texas.
